December 23, 2024The Coventry Dynamite cheerleading team, Lady Grenades, expressed pride in their performance after making it to the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.
The Lady Grenades opened Tuesday night’s live show, performing an electrifying routine in front of judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli. Despite receiving praise for their dynamic performance, the team narrowly missed out on a spot in the finals.
Speaking to BBC Radio CWR, team member Izy reflected on the experience, calling it “incredible.”
“We’re so proud to have made it to the semi-finals. Standing in front of the judges and showcasing cheerleading on such a huge platform was a surreal experience,” she shared.
Izy described the event as a “whirlwind,” emphasizing the intensity of preparation and the excitement of being part of a live televised show. “It’s beyond what we could have imagined—every moment leading up to the performance was incredible,” she added.
The Lady Grenades, comprised of athletes aged 13 to 19, are no strangers to success. The team has achieved numerous national and international accolades, including a third-place finish at the Cheerleading World Championships.
In a heartfelt social media post, the team thanked fans for their unwavering support throughout the competition. “We’re so grateful to everyone who voted, shared, and cheered us on. This journey allowed us to shine a spotlight on the incredible sport of cheerleading and its endless possibilities,” they wrote.
