From Karate to Cheer: Lilly Walton’s New Passion at University

Lilly Walton has embraced a new passion during her first year at the University of Wollongong, joining both the cheerleading and dance teams. Known for her dedication, Lilly’s journey into the world of cheerleading and dance was somewhat unexpected but has quickly become a defining part of her university experience.

Growing up, Lilly always had an interest in dance, but she ended up choosing karate instead, sticking with the martial art for eight years. Despite her long history with karate, Lilly found herself drawn to the vibrant and dynamic world of cheerleading and dance at university.

“It was a spontaneous decision,” Lilly shared. “I was just looking for something to do with my free time, and when I saw the club promoting their activities during orientation, I thought, why not give it a try and apply online?”

Her decision has paid off as Lilly now fully immerses herself in the exciting new challenges of cheerleading and dance, balancing her studies and newfound passion while enjoying every moment of her university life.
